Dickies scrubs are unique in that they are a combination of ultimate fashion and medical scrubs excellence. Manufactured by Dickies scrubs a division of Cherokee scrubs company , an expert in the field of medical scrubs, they are masterfully constructed, and produced by Williamson Dickies , a author, entrepreneur and president and creative director of Dickies labels and licenses . The star power infused in the scrubs is evident, with unique detailing and styling. His designs have fashion-forward but simple features as well as prints printed onto the fabric. In association with this is their line called “gen flex”, a design that is inspired by everyday nurses that are constantly on the go. It is accented with black and sage green to add to the organic feel. Another unique line by Dickies is the “new blue”line which features denim like material and low cut round neck for maximum comfort. And of course the “ Evreyday scrub” line which has a round neck and intricate design & lace at the neck. Slight shirring at the center front, patch pockets, and a back elastic provide the finishing touches on a truly unique medical scrub top. In fact, this scrub top is so detailed, it can even be worn both in and out of work. Dickies is the way to go for incredibly fashion forward medical scrubs that can double as apparel.

Online education has become very popular. You can study just about any subject online, without ever stepping foot into a classroom. Everywhere you look there are advertisements for online programs to get your Masters of Business Management or your law degree online. Before you enroll in an online degree program, you have to consider some things.

Depending on what you want to study, online education may not be right for you. Many of the online programs that are offered today are provided by for-profit schools. For-profit schools exist to make money for their owners, often their owners are stockholders who expect a dividend to be paid or the stock price to increase. The fact that an online program is provided by a for-profit school doesn’t mean that the program doesn’t deliver a good education, it is simply a factor to consider when researching different programs. The reason I mentioned for-profit schools is because I believe that certain subjects should never be taught entirely online, they just do not fit into the online format.

A perfect example of a subject that does not lend itself to the online format would be chemistry. Chemistry requires students to spend time in a laboratory. The laboratory has specialized equipment and is set up to allow students to conduct experiments, these lessons cannot be taught online with the same degree of competence. A student can watch videos of other people conducting experiments but it is not as effective as actually conducting the experiment.

Other subjects that are difficult to learn online are law, architecture, and medicine, to name a few. If you are unsure if the field you are considering is conducive to online education, check out U.S. News and World Report’s College Rankings. If you cannot find an online program in the field that you are researching that is ranked by U.S. News, then that field is probably not appropriate for online education.

Another reason online education is not right for some people is the discipline required. The attractive flexibility of online education also means that a teacher will not tell you when you should start working on your final project or when to read the required reading. It can be tempting to procrastinate and fall behind in class. It is very difficult, if not impossible to catch up once you have fallen behind in an online class.

If you need the structure and guidance of in-class instruction to avoid procrastination, online education is not right for you. You’re going to have to be realistic with yourself, only you know if you are the kind of person that can stay focused and disciplined for the couple of years it is going to take to complete the program.

If you are looking for an easy way to get a college degree or you are not willing to put in the effort that it will take to get a college degree from a well respected program, online education is not for you. Although you may find online college programs that require less work than in-class programs, you will not find a program that is as respected and academically rigorous that is easier just because it is online. Top online programs require just as much work as classroom programs.

On March 30, President Barack Obama went down to Northern Virginia Community College to sign what many in the media were calling his “health bill.” True, a giant portion of the bill revolved around the controversial insurance reform, but that wasn’t all this monumental piece of legislation was about. It also had to do with education and both traditional and online college grants and financial aid possibilities will come into play.

If anyone paid attention, the actual title of the bill Obama signed was “The Health Care and Education Reconciliation Act”. The second half of that title was grossly ignored by most media pundits, but if it goes through as planned it will have an incredibly positive impact on the future of education as a whole, including online colleges.

Admittedly, a considerable amount of the education sections of the bill have to do with elementary and secondary schools. At the same time, who can deny that if this part of the education system isn’t overhauled, the prospects of having primed students for graduate and post-graduate education becomes slim, if not none.

The key bit of legislation though revolves around student loans. Back in the day, when students applied for them, they got the money straight from the federal government. When the legislature that initially created student law systems was signed by then President Lyndon Johnson in 1965, students got their loans directly from the federal government, which also administered them.

Over time, the government felt it could cut costs by having banks administer the money for them. Over the last few years though, this plan backfired. The banks began to feel entitled to charge much higher interest rates and pocket the difference. This resulted in interest rates starting to escalate to as much as 19%, and coupled with the current economic recession, the number of defaults escalated accordingly.

One key aspect of the new Obama plan is it cuts out the banking middle men, again returning the student loan system completely back into the Board of Education’s hands. Obama expects that not only will there be less defaults because the interest rates will be lowered, but the profits generated from these loans will be plowed back into increasing the Pell Grant and related financial aid programs.

Another aspect of this program is targeting a large portion of money towards community and online colleges. The reasoning for this is that these forms of schooling simply cost considerably less than the bigger schools and have smaller war chests than the Harvard’s and MIT’s of the world. If the community college has an online division, that’s even better. What really matters is the school is an accredited Title IV institution.

“For a long time, our student loan system has worked for banks and financial institutions”, Obama said that day. “Today, we’re finally making our student loan system work for students and our families. But we’re also doing something more. From the moment I was sworn into office, I’ve spoken about the urgent need for us to lay a new foundation for our economy and for our future…we can rightly say the foundation on which America’s future will be built is stronger than it was one year ago.”

I was making my rounds through the typical news sites this morning and come across an article on CNN quoting a Jack Cafferty (a CNN reporter) story reporting the results of a recently released “case study” suggesting an decrease in teen sex as a result of the $170 million spent annually in Abstinence education through the public school system. I reviewed the results of this case study and found that the reported 33.5% of Abstinence educated students and 48.5% of the control group who were projected to participate in sexual intercourse is an admitted estimation. The actual reported occurrence of sexual activity was 20.6% for the Abstinence only group and 29% for the control group with no published estimation for the margin of error for this study. Now for those of you reading this that is not aware of my standing on “case study” results please read the following paragraph, if you are familiar with my stance skip the next paragraph.

Any time you see a “case study” or “survey” referenced in an article or speech or memo supporting the authors theme or opinion you are being lied to. Any reference to “statistical data” means you are being lied to. Any time anyone interprets data for you, you are being lied too. Not to say the data is wrong in any particular way but like most things quoted in popular media today it is quite often taken out of context certain aspects are flat ignored or the results are interpreted in a fashion that suits the author’s needs.

To get to the point I wish to make here, we are going to have to dismiss some enormous oddities in the underlying truths about the world. The first blind eye will be turned to the terribly unstable footing these reputable public figures, such as the elected officials, party heads, media spokesmen and a certain number of the religious leaders take on the hypocritical aspect of sex out of wedlock, an ideology seldom practiced by many whom support it. Secondly we will have to dismiss the reality that the promotion of sexuality has become one of the most powerful marketing tools for every consumer product available in the world today from bubble gum to used cars, so any 5 minute discussion about the benefits of Abstinence would be quickly drown out by the constant inflow of sexually charged propaganda.

Now with all that out of the way let’s take a deeper look at the real issue. What kind of sex education should we be teaching in public schools? On the one side we have Abstinence and on the other safe sex practices. In lee of listing out all the pros and cons of the two schools of thought I’m going to say this plainly. Abstinence is a tool for those either too ignorant to see the reality of the world today or too scared to talk candidly about sex and safe sex practices will be beneficial to those who are mature enough to grasp and understand the consequences of sexual activity.

I want to take a second to address a small portion of the opinionated community that wonders why any form of sex education is needed in our schools at all. If you want proof of the need for sexual education get on your computer and look for any taped broadcast of the Dr. Drew show, after listening for 20 minutes of that show just think to yourself, those people have graduated from our fine public school system and will soon be passing on their knowledge (or lack thereof) to the next generation. Do you really want the only information that generation gets about sex to come from their parents? Children in school are going to get some kind of sex education. Would you rather is be from their equally uninformed peers? With that in mind, I don’t think anyone could argue intelligently against the need for sex education in public schools.

For whatever political agenda the opposing proponents have in selecting their stance on this subject a seemingly unbridgeable rift has been created between the two concepts. Once you weed all the political and religious arguments out of the subject a clear and simple answer to this question becomes apparent. Abstinence needs to be promoted in the early stages of sex education, without the maturity both mentally and emotionally to understand the consequences of sexual activity the young mind cannot grasp the ramifications of unsafe sexual behavior. When Abstinence fails, and it will fail, the student needs be aware of the hazards of sexual activity and be informed on how to best protect themselves from these hazards. Promote Abstinence and teach safety.

Students in education degree programs might enter professions that, in the long run, are the most important to a successful economy. That’s at least how President Barack Obama, interviewed by Matt Lauer for the Today Show in September, described teachers. Students who are working toward education degrees might also enter a field that’s very different by the time they graduate.

The difference has to do with education reform. Last year, the federal government announced a $ 4 billion “Race to the Top” program designed to award $ 4 billion in grants to states that promote education reform. Most of the news relating to education today has to do with colleges and universities increased and readiness of both science and mathematics education. Students in education degree program can learn that American K-12 students lag behind other countries in the particular field of study.

The American Federation of Teachers is on board with education reform. Math and science, many say, can enhance innovation, help the economy and help the country retain its role as a world leader. But where Obama in the Today Show interview announced plans to recruit thousands of science and math teachers over the coming two years, American Federation of Teachers President Randi Weingarten in an opinion piece on AOL News suggested that training and retaining teachers, as they do in Finland, might benefit the education system.

BBC World News America earlier this year reported on how representatives from throughout the world visited Finland to determine what makes the country’s schools so successful. Finland’s schools rank- highly on a worldwide scale, even though students there spend some of the least amount of time in class, according to the BBC article. The article explained about when students start school there and when they move to different schools and teachers. Among other things, the BBC World News article mentioned immigration and additional teachers who fill highly respected roles.

If you’re pursuing an education degree, you might be keeping up with American teacher salaries. The National Education Association has proposed offering starting salaries of $40,000 per year across the board for teachers and $28,000 for school support personnel. The American Federation of Teachers has proposed what’s known as “differentiated” pay, where teachers would start with adequate, locally negotiated base salaries and be paid more in instances where they take on added responsibilities. Obama mentioned to Lauer the possibility of creating a career ladder for teachers as a means of professionalizing the industry.

According to the National Education Association website, about 20 percent of new teachers change professions by the time they complete their first year in public schools and nearly half of public school teachers change professions within five years. American school systems as a result lose about $7 billion each year, Weingarten wrote. According to him, school districts should work with teachers to reform them and, through a relatively new model for evaluating their work, to help them develop professionally.

Whether or not you’re working toward an education degree, it’s likely that you’ve heard the saying, “It takes a village to raise a child.” Weingarten and Obama agree that educating children is partly the responsibility of others as well. In Finland, the BBC World News America article noted, parents read at home with their children and communicate regularly with teachers.

The United States Department of Education is making bold moves toward cleaning house and we will talk about some of those that affect you as a parent of a soon-to-be college bound child directly. We do not want to leave out the millions of Americans that are returning to school and are the students themselves-but the largest percentage of school bound individuals are still under the dependent financial care of the parents. We titled this posting debt consolidation breaking news for a very good reason. That reason is as we go forward towards Halloween in the month of October it is time to start laying the groundwork for the upcoming winter school session in most parts of the United States.

Reformation in America

As debt consolidation is being reformed in America today and with President Obama taken the reins on so many financial concerns it is important that you know something about the debt relief situation going on the country. While you may consider yourself well-versed in the basic modality of what debt relief actually is you need to understand how that relates to the student loan obtainment for your incoming freshman. There are literally millions of freshmen that enter colleges and universities and technical schools all across this great country of ours and it is important that the parents of these soon-to-be college educated children know where to turn to for advice and information about that all-important student loan issue.

Department of Education Enactments

The most breaking news that involves debt consolidation includes the actions of President Obama’s administration as well as the Department of Education directly. The administration has mandated through acts of legislation and other such legalities that the middlemen are now cut-out of the equation for all concerns about student loans.

Saving Money

What this does right away is to save you, the American taxpayer, at the very least $500-$1000 a year in monies that was going toward the pavement of the third-party providers for student loans. Now that there is a direct-line of communication between you, the parent of the college-bound child, and the Federal government, which is the Department of Education, the streamlining of this form of financing of a college education is clearing up.

Great Intentions

We wanted to give you some earth-shattering as well as fundamentally groundbreaking news but in reality the debt consolidation world has so much going on it is important that we focus on the present and future and not so much worry about things of the past. If you are a parent of a student who is presently in high school you understand this and you understand that the future belongs to our children. With debt consolidation clearing the household and freeing up cash that would have been spent on credit card revolving debt and other unsecured debt loan accounts you will be that much closer to financing the dream of your child and of yourself of completing a college education in America in the 21st century.

Acquiring a college degree in the traditional way, may be difficult for some because they may not be able to get to a classroom or may not have the time. For people like this, an online college degree can provide the flexibility that they need to complete a degree. This can be done by receiving it from an institution that you are attending already or by moving your existing credits to a different college that have an online component. Online college degree news has been surfacing recently as more and more people are opting out of the traditional way and are going online.

Many people who do opt to go and get an online college degree, tend to do it because they want to save money. There are many online colleges that cost less than the standard college degree that you are going for. Manly because they are not paying for the classrooms and they are not attending the university or college itself. The credit that you receive for attending an hourly long class is less expensive than the exact same class that you are taking, at a college. Taking a degree online, will get you there in half the time and will cost less than the average college degree.

You are still able to achieve your goal by going online as it is no different, to attending a college. The only difference is that you are doing it from the comfort of your own home. So, if you have children to take care of, this is a great way to still receive that college degree that you have always wanted, but still look after your loved ones at the same time.

The best news about earning an online degree is that you are able to do in the fraction of the time that it would normally take you to complete a degree. However, it does depend on the degree as the time frame of the degree may not change.

Having the extra education behind you definitely provides you with the added bonus against other employees because you have the extra knowledge behind you. People who do go for an online education are also able to obtain a higher salary than what they are currently getting as an employee. Having a degree, becomes an investment that will benefit you in the future. Having the added knowledge will definitely help you in your dream job.

Electronic news has almost replaced the print media. More opportunities and more are available for web-based author of the article. Today, you do not have to have a degree in journalism to write news articles electronically. A bachelor’s or Associate’s degree and a concentrated area (or areas) of research can be sufficient in many cases, but you still need to know the basics of how to write a news article.

Writing a news article is fairly straightforward. Some writer’s enjoy this form of writing because it involves mainly facts. Although news articles can require some creativity, there is not an overwhelming amount of creative writing involved; they follow a simple format. Once it is mastered, you can crank out as many articles that you care to write.

A news article reports information about a recent event. The first step in writing an article is to choose a newsworthy event. The writer may want to explore an important event that would be of interest to his or her readership. Therefore, it is imperative that the writer knows the reader demographics. Knowing their interests will help the writer narrow down his or her selection topics.

The lead paragraph or introduction presents the most important facts. This is where you answer the questions who, what, where, when, why, and sometimes how. If you can answer these questions, given the information you researched and collected, you will have all that you need to write your lead paragraph. The information you collect is from conducting thorough research, interviewing eyewitnesses, and fact-checking processes.

Sometimes, it helps to use an outline or matrix to help the writer coordinate information. You may want to create a framework that lists who, what, where, when, why, and how, and beside each, insert bullet information. That way, you have an easy to read draft outlines to write your story. The outline should also include a supporting facts line. Again, you can bullet the details for the purpose of the outline. Lastly, it should include a section that includes quotes and fact-checking information.

When writing the article, keep your audience in mind. The story should be one that relates to the readership, or it should be a topic that may appeal to a different demographics as well as the target audience, thereby increasing readership. Readers instantly connect to authoritative sources, so whenever possible, include quotes from eyewitnesses or even experts that can offer indirect information to support your article.

The headline is probably the most important creative writing your article will entail. The headline is very important because it is the main feature that attracts the reader’s attention and lures him or her into reading the article. Consequently, it must be dazzling! The headline states the article’s main idea, using only a few words. Some writers come up with the headline first and proceed to write from there. Others wait until the article is finished and then derive a headline from what is written.

The education system is moving more and more towards a technology based one with online colleges and distance learning methods growing in leaps and bounds since of recent. Statistics have shown that this dramatic shift, away from the traditional classroom has been evident with there being a 17 percent increase in enrollment in online courses since 2008 whereas the overall increase in the students who entered university rose by only 1.2 percent during the same period. This means according to online college degree news that more than 4.6 million students had joined at least one online course in the semester of 2009.

According to online degree college news, many courses can now be offered online that are provided either by virtual schools or traditional universities that offer these degree programs. The trend of getting a degree online has become so popular that even the more traditional colleges say that the online courses offered by them contribute towards the profit of the school’s revenue. Some colleges even went further to state that since the online registrations fill up pretty quickly, keeping up with the demand for slots has become quite a challenge to them.

Some people are sure to wonder why there has been such an increase in students applying for online college degree news. Job seekers have realized that without a recognized college degree their chances of finding employment are very limited. In a way, the global recession has a lot to answer for this modern trend when workers who were low down in the scale of education found themselves laid off without much sympathy, whereas the ones who were highly educated or had least a college degree to their name managed to survive and live to fight another day.

While those who lost their jobs realized this was a good time for them to enroll in a course that could enable them to find employment, the ones who had left school without going in for higher studies decided to join the band wagon and get themselves educated with a degree in order to complete the studies they had not been able to continue due to several reasons. Whoever wants to follow online college degree news should be careful and do a thorough research about the college they hope to join.

One thing they must always keep in mind is that just like everything else, the online college degree news is that there are many fake schools that dupe people out of their money, promising college degrees which however turn out to be only diploma certificates due to those colleges not being accredited ones and therefore not acceptable to job employers.

The current college ranking systems provide an easy way for prospective students to see how one institution ranks against another. This can make for a simple way to see which colleges will provide the best education. At least that is what the ranking system is supposed to do, in recent years though there has been some criticism regarding the methodologies used to rank colleges.

What are Admissions Rankings?

Before we talk about what is good about the current system and what is not, it is important to understand how colleges are currently ranked in the United States. It is also important to know that there is more than one ranking system available.

The methodology that most of us are familiar with is the ratings that are given by the US News. This system has been around since 1983, and each year the ratings for colleges change. The US News ranks scores each institution with a score between 1 and 100, with 100 being the best, and they separate the schools into 4 tiers. The best schools are listed as tier 1.

The ratings are based on gathered data that take into account the following factors:

• Peer Assessment – Reputation of the school based on a survey of presidents, provosts, and deans from other institutions

• Retention – The graduation rate over a 6-year period, and the retention rate of first year students

• Student Selectivity – A combination of data based on: test scores of students, the percentage of top percentile students admitted, and the student acceptance rate as a whole.

• Faculty Resources – Data that includes the student-faculty ratio, the average salary of faculty members, and the education level of the faculty

• Financial Resources – Average tuition rates per-student

• Graduation Rate Performance – The difference between what the expected rate of graduation was and what the actual graduation rate turned out to be

• Alumni Giving Rate – The amount of money received from donations by alumni

The first four elements on the list account for 80% of the total score. Peer assessment alone makes 25% of the rating, and that is where the criticism of the US News ranking system comes in.

The Good and the Bad

In recent years there has been some criticism of the current rating system. It has been said that with the weighting given to peer assessment, student selectivity, and faculty resources that it becomes easy to pick which schools will come out on top. The largest schools and the richest schools will win out over the smaller colleges every time, regardless of the actual education that a student can expect to receive from the institution.

Looking at the historical data, these statements are true to a certain degree. Schools like Harvard, Yale, and Princeton always end up on top of the list. Some suggest that, to get a true measure of school performance, the ratings should give a larger weighting to factors related to graduation rates, salaries after graduation, and student performance in the long run.

Even with the criticisms, the current college ranking system does provide a method for students to see how their chosen (or prospective) institution ranks against similar colleges in the country. It provides a simple method to see where they can expect a top-rated education, and where they will be getting a second tier education.

With other ranking systems popping up each year it is also possible to use the US News rankings in conjunction with a different rating system. It may be worth comparing the rankings in America to those of the Academic Rankings of World Universities, or data based on the G-Factor methodology (such as Webometrics). Using more than one ranking system will provide a better overall picture when looking at any college.

The American Cancer Society recently released a new study recognizes a widening gap in the cancer death rate between those who are college educated and those with only a high school degree. This study represents what some would consider additional bad news for those who have been exposed to asbestos and may be fighting a disease like mesothelioma.

It is well documented that victims of asbestos exposure tend to be “blue collar” workers in shipyards, factories or other manufacturing jobs which generally do not require higher education such as a college degree. This trend is seemingly supported by the findings in this new study which concludes that while the overall cancer rates seem to be declining, the improvements are only for certain groups and for those with lower education they are actually getting worse.

New figures

The new figures estimate there will be 1.6 million new cancer cases in the United States this year (2011), and 571,950 deaths. Among some of the more notable individual statistics included:

• There mortality rate was almost triple for men with at last 16 years of schooling than those with 12 years of school

• The mortality rate for women was roughly double for the same circumstances

• Lung cancer is still estimated to be the leading cause of cancer deaths in both males and females

• California, New York and Florida were the top 3 states on the list for new cancer cases

Types of cancer likely a factor

In today’s world, the type of cancer being diagnosed and treated can have a huge impact on the survival rate. Certain types such as melanoma have higher survival rates than others such as lung cancer or mesothelioma. In fact, there is no known successful treatment or cure for mesothelioma which adds to statistics like those in the study showing that higher education levels somehow correspond to survival rates.

Other factors to consider

Among the other factors impacting a study like this are the lifestyle implications that are associated with various education levels. Some of which have a significant bearing on your chances of getting or ultimately surviving cancer and may include:

• Likelihood to take risks either in their personal lives or the workplace

• Participation in unhealthy lifestyles that contribute to cancer such as smoking, drinking, overeating and other health factors.

With so many car insurance companies out there, I am sure that some of you will get confused whenever you are trying to look for the right car insurance for you or for your children. Fortunately, there are also a lot of websites that will help you find auto ins for you by
giving you the list of car insurance company from their data base and then ask you to compare which car insurance company that will really suit you in the future. This website has been used by so many people to find their car insurance faster because most of the information given by the insurance companies can be found on this site so you do not need to open a lot of car insurance companies’ websites to get to know about them.

Another advantage of having this kind of site with you is that you will really know almost everything you need to choose the best car insurance for you. For example, if you are wondering about how much the automobile insurance costs, you can just find that very
information in the website. And then, you can compare the cost of one car insurance company with the other car insurance company so that you can find the right one.

One consideration that you need to think about when you are choosing the right car insurance is that you have to be sure that check on the California department of insurance. When a car company is listed in the department of insurance, it means that at least the car
insurance company that you have found has been acknowledge by the state government which means that it is good for you. That is all you need to know about how to find the right car insurance using the websites dedicated to compare the car insurance.

Bell rings, Yoga is in Session

The emergence of attention deficit disorder (ADD), decreased emphasis on physical fitness, and increases the stress level of our children, to worry us all. With this in mind, several educational programs and public schools provide opportunities Yoga, by allowing their students to practice from an early age.

Parents who enjoy Yoga is pleased to share with their children. Even the federal government supports efforts: “Education Yoga” Federal Physical Education Program (PEP) grant valued at approximately $ 750,000 has helped train some 200 teachers nationwide in.

According to an article in News of Education, in October 2010, Yoga classes for different students from year-long regular exposure, as part of a Physical Education class standard for elective classes, usually less intense and sometimes offered during the school day, or before or after, school. Providing Yoga instruction costs, on average, $ 70 per class, but the cost to the school varies depending on the student’s ability to pay.

Nonprofit organization, which recognizes the value of Yoga exercises, has jumped on the bandwagon to support it. Charitable groups, Bent on Learning, raised $ 325,000 for kids Yoga in school in June 2011, through fundraising elite, with guests like Gwyneth Paltrow. Other organizations raise money on a smaller scale or “match making” opportunities between local volunteer yoga instructors and schools in need.

Best of all, there is definitive evidence that Yoga in schools leads to positive outcomes for students. Program Evaluation and Research Collaborative (PERC) is an independent entity, overseen by the California State University, and provide program evaluation and research services to local, state, federal agencies, and schools.

In 2003, they evaluated the “Yoga Ed” program in The Accelerated School (a California charter school). The study subjects were 405 students from kindergarten to 8th grade, and 18 core subject teachers. The Accelerated School is located in South Central Los Angeles, with a student body composed of 62% Hispanic and 36% African-American students.

Highlights of the results of this study are mentioned below.

“Yoga class participation appears to help students’ improve their attitudes toward themselves.

Yoga class participation helped improve students’ behavior.

Yoga class participation helped improve students’ physical health.

Yoga class participation helped students perform better in school academically.”

Conclusion

The introduction of Yoga programs has not been without controversy. Some critics of Yoga see its historic base, in Hindu spirituality, as a conflict with the ban on religious activity in public schools. To avoid this, the Yoga programs have developed alternative terms for components that have traditional names or supposed spiritual aspects. Hence, breathing techniques are now called “balloon breath,” “bunny breathing” and “dragon breath,” for example.

Therefore, if you are a Yoga teacher, who has been invited to teach Yoga in a public school, be aware that extremist objections can possibly surface. In such a case, it may be impossible to reason with the unreasonable. One option for public schools is “Yoga Fitness” or “Stretch and Breathe Classes.” At the very least, our children will learn to be fit, focus on their studies, and deal with daily stress.

Online education is taking education by storm room. It has opened the floodgates opportunities for those who dream of a college education once seemed out of reach, and it is an advantage for junior colleges and four-year battle with the university’s fall enrollment. Online classes quickly snapped up as a traditional college enrollment and for-profit schools accredited online has become a business success.

But what is the reason for this increased interest in computer-based distance learning? Here are a few:

1. More than 3.2 million students enrolled in online classes, and those who appreciate the benefits of this education option is to spread the good news about it.

2. Traditional colleges and universities benefit financially from the increase in online class registration, which has motivated schools to offer a choice of more distance learning.

3. Numerous businesses provide college tuition reimbursement to their employees and utilize accredited, online schools as an extension of their own employee training programs.

4. Employees enjoy the flexibility of being able to work full-time and study on lunch hours, in the evenings, on weekends or at any other chosen time. Teachers, who enjoy summers and holiday weeks off, have additional time to pursue an online degree.

5. A personal computer, the primary tool for online classes, is easier to own as prices for desktops and laptops have dropped significantly. Also, computers have become increasingly user-friendly; and time-saving, high-speed Internet service is widely available. The majority of U.S. public libraries now offer free computer and Internet access.

6. Last year, the U.S. Federal Government made it easier for schools to add additional online degree programs by passing a bill that modified its previous restrictions on financial aid to colleges and universities that offered more than 50% of their classes online. Now, federal grants and loans are available to students who enroll in accredited schools that primarily offer their classes online.

7. Older adults, parents of young children, the physically disadvantaged, those who travel often, those who are recovering from illness or injury, and others who are unable to attend traditional classes have embraced online classes as the best way to continue their education.

8. Those who study online generally experience a significant amount of interaction with professors and fellow students via e-mails, online chat rooms, video streaming, podcasts, bulletin boards and newly-emerging technologies.

9. Online schools routinely offer extra perks and support to students – such as a personal guidance counselor who is easily accessible throughout the duration of the online degree program, vast online libraries and bookstores that are available 24/7, tutoring services, financial aid application assistance, job placement services beyond graduation, easy-payment plans and graduation ceremonies.

10. The U.S. military encourages its personnel to enroll in online degree programs that supplement the training of their chosen career field. These students generally receive 100% tuition reimbursement for their education and may choose from a variety of approved traditional and online colleges.

Colleges and universities are spending millions of dollars to expand their online degree offerings; and they expect to reach an untapped gold mine of students. These new e-learners, if they are diligent, will enjoy the rewards of increased income, fulfilling jobs and greater career potential. And, of course, enrollment in online education will continue to grow.

Students in professional degree programs of education that may be entered, in the long run, the most important for a successful economy. That’s at least how President Barack Obama, who was interviewed by Matt Lauer for the Today Show in September, the teacher explained. Students who are working toward degrees may enter the field of education is also very different by the time they graduate.

The difference has to do with education reform. Last year, the federal government announced $ 4000000000 “Race to the Top” program designed to award $ 4 billion in grants for countries that drive education reform. A lot of news about education today has to do with college and university readiness enhanced and improved science and math education. Students in education degree program can learn that the American K-12 students lagging behind other countries in the particular field of study.

American Federation of Teachers is on board with reform of education. Mathematics and science, many say, can increase innovation, helping the economy and help the country maintain its role as a world leader. But in an interview in which Obama’s Today Show announced plans to recruit thousands of teachers of science and mathematics for two years, the American Federation of Teachers President Randi Weingarten in an opinion piece on AOL News suggests that teacher training and maintains, as they do in Finland, may benefit the education system.

BBC World News America reported earlier this year about how the representatives from around the world to visit Finland to determine what make the schools in the country so successful. Finnish high-school rank in the scale of the world, although there are students spend some time at least in the classroom, according to the BBC article. This article explains about when students started school there and when they moved to different schools and teachers. Among others, the BBC News article mentioned immigration and additional teachers to fill roles that are highly respected.

Very often, it is hard to measure someone’s ability if we do not have certain standard. Even though it is hard to do, it is still an important thing to consider in many replacement tests, whether it is student assessment or employee assessment. All of these types of test or assessment should really measure the ability of the person, so that they can be placed in higher rank, whether it is at school or at the office.

With such importance, the company or the school has to make sure that they have the best instrument that will help them well measuring the ability. There are many types of assessment that they can use to check the ability of certain person, such as ability to benefit test. It is not at all a problem if the company does not have the instrument with them, since they can easily download it from the internet anytime they need the test.

The internet service is also a great benefit for the company, since they can check the latest update of atb test so that the assessment that they conduct can be the valid one. To do this, all they need to do is visiting certain sites that provide the service to download the latest form of test by the internet.

What do you think of when you hear the word “homeschoolers”? Do you think the spelling bee and a large family? Do you think socially awkward? Well, here are some statistics that may surprise you. But be careful, this could change your image of homeschooling upside down.

The HSLDA reports some amazing new statistics in homeschooling. First, how many kids do you think home schooling? In the last decade, the population of students in home education has grown from 850,000 to 1.5 estimated 2 million.

Fact # 1: homeschoolers do 34-39% above the national average in standardized tests. The national average, by definition, is 50%. Homeschoolers test in 84-89% in subjects with the subject of standardized test scores, well above the national average.Fact #2: Children in lower income families who homeschool outperform public education. Even families making a combined household income of less than $35,000 per year outperformed public education by 35% in standardized test scores.

Fact 3#: Boys and girls respond well to homeschool education. Only one percentage point separated male and female students in standardized test scores with boys averaging 87% and girls 88%.

Fact #4: Home-schooled children of parents who do not have a college education outperform public education. Even in homes in which neither parent has a degree, students tested at 83% nationally. That’s 33% above the national average.

Fact #5: Stronger government regulation does not increase student achievement. No discernible achievement difference is shown in states with high, medium, or low levels of regulation. Students’ performance levels for all three categories come in at 87-88%, or 37-38% above the national public school average.

Fact #6: Spending more per student via public education does not improve performance. Homeschool education generally costs $500 per student each year for curriculum and supplies, while public education costs an average of nearly $10,000. Regardless of total dollars per student, homeschool students came in at 86-89% performance, or 36-39% above the national public school average.

Fact #7: Homeschool children of parents who had earned teaching certification were not higher in achievement. Certified educators achieve homeschool performance at the 87th percentile while non-certified homeschoolers achieved the 88th percentile.

These are amazing statistics and should serve those considering home education well making their evaluation.

One task of the parents’ most important thing is to protect their children from these values and harmful sexual behavior. Yet many public schools force potentially harmful, sex education is sometimes surprising explicit in their students.

Most of the time, parents have no control over the content of these classes. Sometimes, a group of parents to know about sex education class is very annoying and protests to the principal or local school board. Classes can be dropped, only to be replaced by other classes that teach the same material object.

School authorities ‘cavalier attitude toward the parents about this issue shows their anti-parent bias, and their contempt for parents’ rights to control the values their children are taught.

Many school authorities insist that children need comprehensive sex education from kindergarten through high school. They believe parents can’t be trusted because they have shameful feelings about sex or have “outdated” moral or sexual values. School authorities, claiming that they know best regarding sex education, usurp the parents’ role, allegedly for the good of the children. In doing so, they show contempt for parents’ rights, values, and common sense.

Many sex-education classes indoctrinate children with sexual values that can cause them irreparable harm. For example, these classes often promote the idea that most sexual behaviors are acceptable, including adultery, homosexuality, masturbation, and premarital sex.

The sex-education instructor simply tells the kids to “be careful” or use their “common sense” when they engage in these behaviors. As if we can depend on teenagers with raging hormones to be careful or use their common sense. The soaring teen pregnancy rate in this country puts the lie to this notion.

Horror stories about sex education classes and flagrant violations of parents’ rights confront us from around the country. Here are only four of those stories:

o On March 19, 1996, a public school in East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania made 59 sixth-grade girls submit to a genital examination as part of a routine physical. The school did not ask for parental consent. During the exam, school officials blocked the exit doors and refused to let the crying and pleading young girls call their parents.

o In Stephens County, Georgia, parents were shocked to discover that their fourteen- and fifteen-year-old daughters had been driven to a birth control clinic by a public school staff member without their knowledge. The county clinic administered AIDS tests and Pap smears to the girls and gave them birth control pills and condoms. The school denied parents access to the test results and defended its actions on the grounds that the counselor believed that she was doing what was best for the girls.

o The Pacific Justice Institute filed a lawsuit on behalf of parents against the Novato [California] Unified School District for authorizing pro‑homosexual presentations without any prior notice or consent. According to the Pacific Justice Institute Press Release, “The presentations entitled “Cootie Shots,” exposed elementary school children as young as seven years old with skits containing gay and lesbian overtures. The presentations were followed by question and answer sessions about what constitutes ‘normal’ families and acceptance of those who choose the homosexual lifestyle.” 6 (see Notes in “Public Schools, Public Menace”)

o Carol (last name withheld for privacy), a schoolteacher, couldn’t believe what she was being asked to teach in her sex education class. The curriculum forced her to show second-graders pictures of nude boys and girls and ask them to name body parts. School authorities told Carol and her fellow elementary school teachers that there were no absolute moral rules, so she shouldn’t be concerned about what she had to teach the children.

Parents, it might be advisable if you periodically asked your children if their school is giving them sex-education classes and what the school is teaching in these classes.

If these classes force your children to sit through shocking, obnoxious, or embarrassing sex-education material, you can do something about it. Many states have Parent Notification laws that allow you to demand that the school “opt-out” (withdraw) your children from these classes. You can find more information about this important issue in “Public Schools, Public Menace.”

According to the Cincinnati Enquirer, the school will offer an introduction to marketing class designed for students who are pursuing their master’s degree in business administration. Dean of the college said that the new web-based course is part of an experiment to see whether business schools can add more online classes in the future.

He said that the online course is one of the biggest trends in higher education because they allow students to enroll in classes despite the constraints of distance or conflicting work schedules, reports the news provider. In addition, they are usually cheaper than traditional courses.

Dean, who arrived in the Ohio-based university in August, plans to change the business degree programs by strengthening industry relationships to a degree. Part of that transformation, he told the news source, is adding a web-based opportunities for prospective entrepreneurs. In other programs offered at the institution, about 3,500 students are currently enrolled in online classes.Meanwhile, an all-business school in Michigan is trying to spread the word about their online management degrees. The college is hosting a “webinar” on November 18 for professionals who are interested in earning an MBA or master of management (MM) with a specialization in Health Services Administration.

The 45-minute web session will provide information about the course content and admission requirements. Sheila Ronis, who is the current chair of the Vision Working Group of the Project on National Security Reform in Washington, DC, is scheduled to participate in the webinar. Ronis, who is also director the MBA and MM programs, said that there will be a need for qualified health service administrators as the population continues to age and the healthcare industry expands.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), the number of employment opportunities for medial and health service managers is expected to grow by 16 percent over the next eight years. The bureau reports that managers will be required to recruit workers, implement new technology and ensure the security of computerized patient records.

Individuals who have a master’s degree in health services administration may start as department managers or as supervisory staff, according to the BLS. Candidates who have graduate school experience are also likely to be hired by medical group practices, mental health facilities, consulting firms and clinics.

The BLS says that, on average, medical and health services managers at general hospitals earn approximately $80,240 per year. Administrators at outpatient care centers make about $74,130 per year.
